I was born in Logan, Utah. I grew up in Murray, Utah and attended Murray High School. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint in the Florida Tampa Mission (1979 to 1981). From 1987 to 1990 I served in the US Army. My children are Matthew, Amber, Stephen and Dylan. In 1993 I received my BS in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and in the year 2000 I recevied my MA in Organizational Management. In 1998, I married the former Janet Felix. I gain four more children Tiffany, Tonya, Paul and Scott and 10 grandchildren. In 2000 I became the Computer Science Department Chair at Mountain West College (now Everest) and in 2002 began teaching Communications and Public Speaking at Salt Lake Community College. I have served in various calling for my church and I currently teach the High Priest Quorum. I have written 10 songs - my two most favorite "Some Miracles Take Time" and "When He Comes Again" both which are faith based. I have also authored three books in what I call the Simplicity Series - The Simplicity of Learning, The Simplicity of Communication and The Simplicity of Public Speaking.
